Warble ("we", "our", or the "app") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it is used. By using Warble you agree to this policy.
Warble uses your device's microphone to listen for bird songs and calls so it can identify the species. Audio is analyzed on your device by a local model. It is not streamed to us or to any third party for identification, and the app listens only while you are actively using it. You can revoke microphone access at any time in your device settings.
When Warble identifies a bird, it can save the short audio clip of that capture so you can listen to it again in your album. These clips are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to us or shared with anyone. Deleting a capture or deleting the app removes them from your device.
Warble asks for location for two reasons: to show you the regional album that matches where you are, and to record roughly where each bird was heard so your collection has context. Location is stored locally with your captures and is not published, sold, or shared. Warble does not track you in the background. Location is optional — the app works without it, though regional albums will need to be selected manually. You can revoke location access at any time in your device settings.
Because precise locations of birds can put sensitive species at risk, Warble never publishes the coordinates of your sightings and does not make your captures public.
Warble does not require an account. We do not collect your name, contacts, photos, or browsing history. Your album, captures, and settings are stored locally on your device.
Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive or store your payment card details. Apple's privacy policy governs payment information.
Warble uses a subscription management provider (RevenueCat) to process purchases and validate purchase status. It handles a random app-generated identifier and purchase data, and does not receive your name, contacts, audio, or location.
Warble is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
You control your data: revoke microphone or location access in your device settings, delete captures in the app, and manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
